Located in Barlastone Park, our Ministry encompasses a Children’s Village, Primary and Technical Secondary School, Vocational Training College, Medical Clinic, and Community Church. This full-time role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children. Role Overview: Maintenance and Grounds Officer Jobs in Lusaka The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of both indoor and outdoor spaces within the children’s village. This role requires hands-on involvement in routine cleaning, landscaping, minor repairs, and general maintenance to ensure a welcoming and secure environment. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize offices, toilets, kitchens, hallways, and other indoor areas. Maintain outdoor spaces including lawns, gardens, walkways, drains, and compound surroundings. Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, weeding, watering, pruning, sweeping, and litter removal. Carry out minor repairs including changing bulbs, fixing taps, tightening fittings, and painting touch-ups. Regularly inspect facilities to identify cleanliness issues, safety hazards, and maintenance needs. Properly use, store, and account for cleaning materials, tools, and maintenance supplies. Support waste management, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout the institution. Assist with furniture setup, movement, and general operational support as needed. Report major repairs, damages, and safety concerns promptly to management. Promote and maintain a safe, child-friendly environment at all times. Candidate Qualifications and Skills Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in cleaning, groundskeeping, or general maintenance. Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, cleaning equipment, and landscaping practices. Ability to perform minor repairs and adhere to safety procedures. Physically fit to work both indoors and outdoors. Good communication skills with the ability to work independently. A valid driver’s license is an advantage. Trade certificate from TEVET/TEVETA or a recognized vocational training institution is highly desirable.
