Position Overview – Machinist Operator Jobs in Lusaka As a Machinist / Operator at Vaimar Farms, you will take full responsibility for operating and maintaining the soya extruder and oil expeller machinery. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing production efficiency, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring high-quality feed output. This is a full-time role based in Lusaka, offering an opportunity to contribute directly to our feed production infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate the soya extruder and oil expeller machines to meet production targets. Setup & Calibration: Perform precise machine setup, mechanical adjustments, and calibration to maximize oil extraction and protein cake quality. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing, proactive inspections, and targeted mechanical maintenance to reduce downtime. Early Fault Detection: Monitor machinery closely to identify mechanical deviations early and troubleshoot faults to prevent major breakdowns. Material Efficiency: Oversee feed processing parameters to minimize material spillage, optimize product recovery, and maintain cleanliness around the plant. Candidate Requirements Education: Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanical trade qualification. School Certificate: Full Grade 12 School Certificate. Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining industrial oil expeller and soya bean extruder machinery. Technical Skills: Proficiency with mechanical precision tools, motor alignment, gearbox troubleshooting, and interpreting machinery manuals.
