Brooke Consultancy Limited is recruiting five JCB Operators for a major two-year mining and construction project at Katende in Kasai Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent • Valid JCB or Backhoe Loader Operator Certificate from a recognised institution • At least three years’ practical operating experience • Experience in construction, mining, quarrying, earthworks or industrial operations REQUIRED COMPETENCIES • Safe operation of both loader and backhoe functions • Excavation and trenching • Loading and moving materials • Backfilling and levelling • Daily and pre-start inspections • Identifying unsafe ground conditions • Safe work around underground services and structures • Basic machine care and defect reporting ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Valid medical-fitness certificate • Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures • Ability to work independently and follow supervisors’ instructions • Mining-environment experience is an advantage GENERAL APPLICATION DOCUMENTS Updated CV; copies of NRC/identification; Grade 12 Certificate; relevant operator certificates; valid driving licence where applicable; proof of previous experience; medical-fitness certificate; mine-safety/induction certificates where applicable; and two traceable employment references.
