Brooke Consultancy Limited is recruiting three Crane Operators for a major two-year mining and construction project at Katende in Kasai Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent • Valid Crane Operator Certificate or Competency Certificate from a recognised institution • Valid Heavy Equipment Operating Licence where applicable • Three to five years’ practical experience operating mobile cranes in mining, construction or heavy industrial environments REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE • Safe lifting operations • Load charts and crane capacities • Rigging principles • Pre-start inspections • Crane stability and outrigger positioning • Basic hand signals and communication procedures ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Valid medical-fitness certificate • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements • Ability to work under a permit-to-work system • Experience working with riggers, banksmen or signalmen • Ability to identify defects and report them promptly • Mining experience, First Aid certification and experience operating different crane capacities are preferred GENERAL APPLICATION DOCUMENTS Updated CV; copies of NRC/identification; Grade 12 Certificate; relevant operator certificates; valid driving licence where applicable; proof of previous experience; medical-fitness certificate; mine-safety/induction certificates where applicable; and two traceable employment references.
