Instrumentation Plant Engineer Company: Zambia Sugar Plc Department: Manufacturing Location: Nakambala, Mazabuka, Zambia Employment: Permanent, Full Time Positions: 1 Zambia Sugar Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will support factory operations through safe, reliable instrumentation and effective life-cycle management of control systems. Key Performance Areas • Maintain documentation for instrumentation maintenance, repairs, equipment history and schedules. • Optimise maintenance operations, daily work scheduling and resource allocation. • Ensure major maintenance operations and annual overhauls are completed on schedule. • Contribute to the five-year investment plan and support team performance and communication. • Keep DCS environments safe, temperature-controlled and optimised; manage change logs and user rights. • Protect PI Historian and DCS systems from malware and keep antivirus protection current. • Troubleshoot DCS and PI Historian systems and manage their hardware and software life cycles. • Develop PCS7 DCS and PI Historian programmes; install and administer hardware and software. • Perform system maintenance, backups and programme read-backs in line with ABF standards. • Tune control loops and maintain current drawings, manuals and operating documentation. • Work with optimisation, maintenance and process teams to solve problems and promote teamwork. Minimum Qualifications and Experience • Full Grade 12 Certificate. • Degree in Electrical Engineering. • Preferably 5 years’ experience in field instrumentation, PCS7 systems, electricity supply and control-and-instrumentation maintenance. • Familiarity with ABF systems and SAP is an advantage. • Proven control-and-instrumentation infrastructure maintenance and improvement experience. • Employee and contractor management experience, plus continuous-improvement knowledge. • Certificates must be verified by ZAQA.
