JOB DETAILS KEY JOB ROLES Ndola Trust School Limited is an established private Primary and Secondary School committed to delivering quality, learner-centred education that promotes academic excellence, character development, innovation and leadership. Ndola Trust School seeks to recruit an experienced, modern, charismatic, visionary 360 degrees leader who is a highly motivated professional to serve as HEAD OF SCHOOL. JOB PURPOSE The Head of School shall be responsible for the teaching, managing and training of scholars as well as administration and futuristic (strategic) direction of the School. The successful candidate will ensure the effective delivery of quality education, effective instructional practice, educational leadership, management of human and capital resources, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment (school culture and climate), and maintaining productive relationships with learners, parents, school staff, regulators and other stakeholders. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the achievement of the School’s mission, vision and objectives. Oversee the overall administration, management and day-to-day operations of both the Primary and Secondary School. Promote excellence in teaching, learning, assessment and learner achievement through effective instructional leadership. Supervise, mentor and evaluate teaching while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement. Ensure effective implementation of the curriculum, school policies, safeguarding measures, and all applicable Ministry of Education and Teaching Council of Zambia requirements. Manage the School’s financial, physical and human resources efficiently and responsibly to support sustainable institutional growth. Maintain a safe, inclusive, disciplined and learner-centred environment that promotes academic excellence, character development and learner welfare. Building and maintaining productive relationships with parents, guardians, staff, the Board of Directors, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders. Prepare and implement strategic plans, annual work plans, budgets and performance reports, and driving continuous school improvement initiatives. Representing the School in all official matters and promoting its reputation within the education sector and the wider community. Faithfully, diligently and competently performing all duties associated with the position of Head of School and carrying out such other lawful duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by the Employer from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications: Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) credits or better, including English. Degree in Secondary School Teaching with bias in Key Learning and Teaching Areas (Subjects), based on Zambian Curricula A Master’s Degree with Educational Management, Educational Leadership, Education Administration or a related field. A PHD in a related field will be an added advantage. A valid Teaching Council of Zambia Registration Certificate and Practicing License. EXPERIENCE A minimum of eight (8) years’ teaching experience, of which at least five (5) years must have been in a senior leadership position such as Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher, Head of Department or equivalent. Demonstrated experience managing both academic and administrative functions within a reputable Primary and/or Secondary School. Proven success in strategic planning, curriculum implementation, school improvement, staff management and stakeholder engagement.
