Field-based across Lusaka East territory. Own vehicle required. Start Date As soon as possible — target August/September 2026 Job Brief 265 Energy Zambia Limited is seeking a dynamic and commercially proven Head of Sales and Marketing on an initial consulting basis. The successful candidate will lead the company’s full commercial and marketing function — driving B2B account development, reseller network growth, institutional partnerships, loan product programme execution, and brand campaigns. This is not a coordinating role. It is a closing role. The right candidate will be expected to build and own a commercial pipeline, produce measurable results within 90 days, and demonstrate the capability to lead a permanent commercial function. Scope of Work 1. Sales and Marketing Strategy Execution — 30% Develop and execute a 90-day sales and marketing plan, set monthly revenue targets, and run campaigns across radio, social media, print, and community activation. 2. Reseller and Partner Development — 25% Recruit, onboard, and activate new resellers, and develop institutional distribution and financial-institution partnerships through to signed MOU. 3. Market Analysis and Adaptation — 20% Track market conditions, pricing, and demand drivers across the territory, and adapt commercial tactics in response. 4. Customer Relationship Management — 15% Build and manage B2B commercial accounts across the hospitality, education, healthcare, and institutional segments, and maintain outlet standards and customer retention programmes. 5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting — 10% Maintain a live commercial pipeline and report weekly and monthly to the CEO against agreed KPIs. Performance Expectations Performance in this role is measured against a defined set of commercial KPIs covering B2B account acquisition, volume, reseller network growth, partnership development, and marketing delivery. The full KPI schedule and target levels are shared with candidates who progress to the second stage of the interview process. Review and Conversion 3-Month KPI Review At the conclusion of the 3-month consulting period, the CEO will conduct a formal KPI review. Based on performance the Employer may: (a) offer conversion to permanent employment, (b) extend the consulting engagement, or (c) conclude the engagement. The Employer may also offer conversion to permanent employment at any point during the consulting period if performance warrants it. Candidate Profile Essential Minimum 5 years in a sales, business development, or commercial management role, with a demonstrable record of closing B2B accounts. Proven experience building and managing a commercial pipeline from prospecting through to signed contract. Experience in LPG, fuel, FMCG distribution, solar, or another route-to-market business serving Zambian commercial and institutional customers. Demonstrated ability to recruit, onboard, and manage a reseller, dealer, or agent network. Strong working knowledge of the Lusaka commercial landscape and established local networks. Confident written and verbal English, and the ability to produce clear weekly and monthly performance reports. Own roadworthy vehicle and a valid Zambian driving licence. This is a field-based role and the successful candidate must be able to travel independently across the territory. A fuel and mileage allowance is provided. Advantageous Existing relationships with Zambian banks, microfinance institutions, or asset-finance providers. Prior experience launching a new brand or new market entry. Familiarity with LPG safety standards and Energy Regulation Board requirements.
