An established Civil Society Organisation (CSO) invites applications from highly motivated, recent graduates to join its Finance Department as a Graduate Finance Officer Trainee. This programme is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in financial management within the non-profit sector. This opportunity is ideal for ambitious graduates seeking to build a career in finance, accounting, and grant management. Duration: The training programme is for a period of six (6) months. Subject to satisfactory performance, organisational needs, and availability of funding, successful trainees may be considered for employment upon completion of the training programme. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of payment vouchers and supporting documentation. Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting. Process cash and bank transactions in accordance with organisational policies. Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and filing systems. Support monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations. Assist in project financial reporting and donor compliance. Support statutory compliance, including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and other statutory obligations. Assist in procurement and asset management processes. Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised and reputable institution. Recent graduate with not more than two (2) years since graduation. Must possess ZICA Technician, Licentiate, or Professional qualification or be registered with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA). No prior work experience is required. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of accounting software will be an added advantage. Personal Attributes High level of integrity and honesty. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Willingness to learn and develop professionally. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Good organisational and time management skills. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
