Zambia Sugar PLC invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Financial Planner in the Finance Department, based at Nakambala. Position: Financial Planner x1 – Permanent (Re-advertised) Reports to: Finance Business Partner Key Responsibilities – Business partnering at section level with section heads, providing detailed analysis of cost breakdowns, querying cost drivers and supporting analysis against forecast/budget parameters. – Accountable for deliverables with minimal or no supervision. – Review budget/forecast processes and analyse reasonableness of production-related numbers and cost drivers. – Provide and analyse daily production reports showing performance against daily and monthly targets. – Work closely with the Financial Analyst to provide input and commentary on the monthly income statement. – Provide accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting quarterly and annually. – Coordinate and facilitate financial performance through business analytics, insights, cost-driver analysis and KPIs. – Prepare budgets, five-year plans and estimates for the business function through to approval. – Support preparation and presentation of budgets and capital submissions. – Conduct monthly meetings with budget holders, promote cost control and provide year-end outlooks. – Analyse, challenge and process first-level budget and forecast inputs from section heads. – Review budget phasing versus actual expenditure and assist budget holders with queries. – Investigate major variances and support corrective actions. – Review and improve scorecards and related processes. – Engage in internal and external benchmarking and participate in relevant meetings. Customer and Stakeholder Accountabilities – Develop and maintain favorable stakeholder relationships. – Manage strategic discussions with business partners and business teams. – Work closely with the Financial Analyst to finalize historic reporting within required timeframes. – Formulate and manage service level agreements with stakeholders. People and Leadership Accountabilities – Track performance against goals and discuss progress with the business partner. – Document individual development plans and discuss training needs. – Support and guide team members in compliance with group processes, policies and procedures. – Promote self-development and adherence to Illovo procedures and policies including SHEQ, risk, competition law and anti-bribery and corruption. Minimum Requirements – Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent. – Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or equivalent. ACCA, CIMA or CA Zambia is an added advantage. – Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA). – Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in a management/cost accounting environment. – SAP experience will be an added advantage. – Certificates must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
