Zambia Sugar Plc is an ABF Group sugar company and the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are growing sugar cane and producing and marketing sugar and other downstream products. The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for one permanent Farm Supervisor position in the Agriculture Department at Nakambala. Reports to: Farm Manager Employment: Permanent Vacancies: 1 The successful candidate will supervise and monitor farm activities to ensure quality and activity targets are achieved, and assist management in developing farm plans that support long-term growth, development and sustainability. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS • Supervise all farming activities, timing and quality standards related to cane production. • Execute and supervise farm resource and activity plans. • Supervise farm activities and implement continuous improvement measures to ensure adherence to activity standards. • Monitor correct use of materials and other farm inputs. • Carry out inspections and activity assessments and submit reports to management. • Maintain discipline within the team. • Keep daily farm activity records for capturing into Cane Pro. • Assist management in monitoring labour requirements in line with the farm plan. • Implement continuous improvement practices by monitoring work practices and ensuring tools and techniques are applied to deliver high-quality sugar cane. • Develop team skills through on-the-job coaching and mentoring. • Conduct on-the-job training and instruction on various farm activities. • Report identified risks to management. • Monitor and oversee execution of farm activities by service providers to ensure compliance with standards. • Promote and adhere to ABF procedures, policies and guidelines, including those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Grade 12 School Certificate. • Diploma in Agriculture or a related field. • Preferably three years’ experience in sugar cane agriculture. • Experience leading teams and allocating resources. • Good relationship-building and maintenance skills. • Good team leadership skills. • Certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
