Keystone Technologies Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join its team in Lusaka, Zambia. This contract role is ideal for professionals experienced in electrical and security systems installation and maintenance. Position: Electrical Technician Location: Lusaka, Zambia Job Type: Contract About the Role As an Electrical and Security Systems Technician, you will install, maintain and repair electrical and security infrastructure. Core duties include working with wiring, distribution boards, backup power systems, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems. You will also perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot faults to support system performance. Key Responsibilities – Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, distribution boards and backup power systems such as generators and UPS units. – Deploy and configure IP and analog CCTV cameras, including NVR/DVR storage setup and perimeter surveillance. – Install and service access control systems including biometric readers, card/fob readers and turnstiles. – Set up fire alarm systems by installing smoke and heat detectors, manual call points and alarm panels. – Conduct scheduled inspections, testing and calibration of electrical and security systems as part of preventive maintenance. – Diagnose and resolve faults using specialized test equipment and software tools. Qualifications and Skills Required – Craft or Technician Certificate, or Advanced Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology. – Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is mandatory. – Three to five years of practical experience in electrical and security systems installation and maintenance. – Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, schematics and load balancing principles. – Proficiency with CCTV design tools, IP networking and storage planning. – Familiarity with access control systems such as Dormakaba, Dahua, Hikvision or equivalents. – Ability to integrate fire alarm systems with building management systems. – Clear communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders. – OSHA Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Electrical Safety certification is an advantage. – Additional training in CCTV design, fire alarm installation or access control integration is preferred.
