ZUMANI ZIMBA WARNS AGAINST PETITIONING PRESIDENTIAL RESULTS: “IT WILL BE A BIG MISTAKE”

By Giant Reporter

NRPUP Presidential Adviser Chris Zumani Zimba has warned against petitioning the presidential election results, describing such a move as a “big mistake” and calling instead for dialogue, healing, peace and reconciliation.

Zimba says he will not be part of any petition challenging the presidential election results, despite the decision by NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile to challenge the outcome of the August 13, 2026 General Election.

In a statement, Zimba said:

“With such fire, petitioning presidential results will be a big mistake. As for me, as Tonse Alliance Founder, SG and Chief Advisor, I will NOT be part of it. Let dialogue, healing, peace and reconciliation reign now to serve many detained and hiding!”

His remarks come amid growing political tension following the announcement of the presidential election results, with Mundubile indicating that he intends to challenge the outcome through the courts.

Zimba has instead appealed for calm and reconciliation, stressing the need for dialogue at a time when political divisions remain high.

His position could further fuel debate within the opposition camp over whether to pursue a legal challenge to the election results or prioritise political dialogue and reconciliation.

Mundubile’s decision to challenge the results has been publicly reported, while Zimba has made clear that he does not intend to be part of the petition.
