The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has wished Zambia unity and prosperity as President Hakainde Hichilema begins his second term.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for President Hichilema, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe and Zambia will continue to collaborate and strengthen bilateral relations.
“Countries should harness opportunities presented by the region by building and strengthening our economies,” he said.
Meanwhile, President Hichilema today launched his second term under the theme “Grow Zambia Agenda,” pledging increased job creation, economic growth, and deeper reforms to empower youth and women.
He expressed gratitude to fellow Heads of State and the people of Zambia, noting that his first term was a foundation and that the second term will be centred on growth.
“My government will deliver more jobs, opportunities, and increased growth for the citizens of Zambia,” he said.
President Hichilema added that his government will continue the fight against corruption. He said members of government are here to serve the people of Zambia and should put the country’s interests before their own.
