Zambian filmmaker Wyclif Mwamba has announced plans to feature musicians and other artists in his upcoming movie productions. 

This follows the launch of the trailer for his latest film, The Pawn, as he seeks to help them reach the big screen.

The trailer launch, held in Lusaka on 30th August 2026, attracted several players in the entertainment industry, including musicians, filmmakers, and producers.

Mr.Mwamba said collaborations between musicians and filmmakers are important in promoting local talent and creating more opportunities within Zambia’s creative industry.

“Collaboration with musicians is very important because they play a very important role in the industry,” Mr. Mwamba said.

He said musicians play a significant role in the entertainment sector and that working together with filmmakers can help expose Zambian artists to wider audiences.

He added that incorporating local artists into his productions is part of his efforts to create more platforms for creatives and contribute to the growth of Zambia’s film industry.

Meanwhile, Brian Bwembya popularly known as B Flow commended Abana Vision for its contribution to the development of Zambia’s film sector, saying such initiatives would help build the industry across different creative fields.

The launch brought together various stakeholders in the entertainment industry, highlighting the growing need for collaboration among musicians, filmmakers, and other creatives in promoting locally produced content.
