Konkola Blades President Davy Mubita has challenged the Super League side to stay united, focused and ambitious as the team embarks on a pre-season trip to Mongu ahead of the 2026/2027 season.

Speaking to players at Konkola Stadium before departure, Mubita said unity and total commitment to the club’s objectives will be the driving force behind the campaign starting in September.

“Pre-season is the foundation of everything we will achieve on the pitch. Last season, we laid a solid foundation by finishing 9th. This season, ‘good’ is not enough,” he said.

“Management, our sponsors Konkola Copper Mines, and our passionate fans expect us to compete aggressively for a top finish,” Mubita added.

With careful squad restructuring and key new additions onboard, the president urged players to maximise their time in Western Province by building chemistry, focusing on conditioning, and upholding discipline.

“You are representing a big club with passionate supporters. Go to Mongu, put in the work, stay disciplined. We believe in this group. Let’s set the standard for a successful season ahead,” he said.

Konkola Blades finished 9th in the 2025/26 Super League campaign.

Experienced coach Beston Chambeshi says he is keen to see the team improve further next season.
