Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka made a memorable debut for new German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV on Saturday, scoring and providing an assist in a 3-1 pre-season friendly win over fellow Bundesliga side Heidenheim in Austria.

‎The 27-year-old was introduced in the 30th minute and restored Hamburger’s two-goal lead in the 57th minute, just two minutes after Heidenheim had pulled one back.
‎
‎Daka signed a one-year contract with Hamburger this week and was officially unveiled by the club on Wednesday.

He joined his new teammates in training on Wednesday.
‎
‎The former Leicester City forward said ahead of the match:‎“Anything is possible if you stay focused on it. It’s a great group, I already feel at home, and hopefully I can help the team.”

“The mindset is there—now it’s time to show that quality in an HSV shirt.”

‎Daka was without a club following the expiry of his contract at English side Leicester City at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

He spent five years at the Foxes, during which the club suffered two relegations from the Premier League to League One.
