The Pastors Fellowship in Chilubi District in Northern Province has commended the government for making key strides towards economic transformation.

Pastors Fellowship Chairperson, Charles Katongo, says the country is on the right trajectory under President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership as the county has seen economic stability.

Pastor Katongo notes that the policies of the government are reflective of efforts to spearhead prosperity.

He said this when Republican Vice President, Mutale Nalumango, met the clergy at Chilubi Mainland Boarding Secondary School today.

“We are able to see that the country is on the right track because President Hakainde Hichilema’s plans are to see Zambia prosper, which is what we are seeing today” he said.

Pastor Katongo also thanked the government for recognising the clergy as partners in governance through its all-inclusive policies.

And Mrs Nalumango said men of God are key partners in development saying both government and the church serve the interest of the people.

She further urged the church to promote Christian values in society.

“The church being the salt of the world should impact society with Christ-like character if our country is to be a better place,” Mrs Nalumango said.

The Vice President also appealed to the church to continue preaching peace, love and unity as the country heads to August 13, General Elections.

Mrs Nalumango said Zambians should not allow politics to divide them but instead remain united.

And speaking during a meeting with civil servants, Mrs Nalumango, said implementation of the Free-Education Policy which has now become law, has brought about inclusivity.

She observed that the policy which is now law has enabled even children from poor households to attain education.

Mrs Nalumango is on a five day working visit to Northern Province and is tomorrow expected to hold meetings in Nsama and Mporokoso Districts.
