The Zambia Women’s National Volleyball Team this afternoon left the country for Nairobi, Kenya for the 2026 African Volleyball Confederation, African Women’s Volleyball Nations Championship.

The continental championship will run from , August 23rd to September 5th, 2026, in Nairobi, with Zambia aiming to make a strong impression at the competition.

Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) has stated that the 14-member squad is headed by setters Sally Bwalya and Annie Kalaba, while the middle blockers are Mwelwa Ngosa, Isabel Mudenda, Jane Kamwa and Limpo Mombotwa.

The outside attackers are Alice Nankamba, Naomi Kahalu, Betina Zulu and Beene Matongo.The association said the team also includes opposites Lubasi Nakena and Beatrice Besa, as well as liberos Tendai Zulu and Belia Ngoyi.

And Coach Arnold Simulezi, who will be assisted by Lloyd Mweemba and Monde Akalaluka, has assured that the girls are ready for the championship after seven days of training.

Meanwhile, ZAVA described Zambia’s participation in the continental championship as an important milestone in the continued development and promotion of volleyball in the country.

The association has also recognised the support of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, the National Sports Council of Zambia, sponsors, partners, stakeholders and the media in promoting national sport.
