Trump Warns Iran After Reported Houthi Attack on Saudi-Owned Ships

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Iran following what he described as Houthi attacks on two Saudi-owned vessels, accusing Tehran of bearing ultimate responsibility for the group’s actions.

In a statement released just moments ago, Trump said the Houthis had acted “responsibly” since last year, but claimed they had now targeted two ships owned by Saudi Arabia. He warned that if such attacks happen again, the United States would hold Iran directly accountable

Trump declared that Washington would respond with powerful military strikes against Iran, citing its continued support for the Houthis. He also warned that the Houthis themselves would face a severe military response if they carried out further attacks on shipping.

The statement marks a significant escalation in U.S. rhetoric and raises fresh concerns about the possibility of broader military confrontation in the Middle East, particularly amid ongoing tensions in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb shipping corridor.

Neither Iran nor the Houthi movement has immediately responded to Trump’s latest remarks. The comments are likely to heighten concerns among global energy markets and international shipping operators, as the region remains a critical route for global trade and oil exports.
