FLEET OFFICER WANTED Company: Abaleya Carpooling Limited Location: Lusaka, Zambia Position: Fleet Officer Duration: Full-Time Abaleya Carpooling Limited is looking for a motivated, organized, and responsible Fleet Officer to support the management and daily operations of vehicles and drivers on the Abaleya platform. The successful candidate will monitor fleet performance, coordinate drivers, ensure vehicles remain operational, and support efficient service delivery. Key Responsibilities Monitor and coordinate Abaleya vehicles and drivers on a daily basis. Maintain accurate records of vehicles, drivers, assignments, and fleet activities. Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles meet Abaleya’s operational standards. Monitor vehicle servicing, maintenance, insurance, road tax, and other compliance requirements. Coordinate vehicle repairs and follow up with mechanics and service providers. Monitor driver attendance, performance, conduct, and compliance with company policies. Track vehicle utilization, mileage, fuel consumption, and general fleet performance. Identify and report vehicle faults, accidents, breakdowns, and other operational issues. Assist with driver onboarding, vehicle onboarding, and fleet documentation. Prepare daily and weekly fleet performance reports. Work closely with the Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve fleet-related issues. Conduct periodic field checks to verify vehicles and drivers. Ensure company vehicles and assigned assets are properly maintained and accounted for. Qualifications & Requirements Must have a Grade 12 Certificate. A diploma or degree in Fleet Management, Transport & Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage. Previous experience in fleet, transport, logistics, or vehicle operations is an advantage. Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical issues. Good organizational and record-keeping skills. Basic computer literacy and ability to use mobile applications. Ability to use WhatsApp, email, spreadsheets, and other digital tools. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and solve operational problems. Must be willing to conduct field inspections and travel when required. Must have a valid driver’s licence. Must be based in Lusaka. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be organized, disciplined, proactive, and highly responsible, with a strong interest in transport and fleet operations. They should be comfortable working with drivers, monitoring vehicles, handling operational challenges, maintaining accurate records, and working in a fast-growing technology-driven company.
