TASILA LUNGU REPORTEDLY LEAVES ZAMBIA SECRETELY AS HUSBAND REMAINS IN DETENTION.

Former Chawama Member of Parliament Tasila Lungu has reportedly left Zambia for South Africa, while her husband, Patrick Mwansa, remains in detention in connection with terrorism and insurgency related charges.

According to sources within political and security circles, Ms. Lungu is believed to have travelled to South Africa last week.

The reported departure has sparked questions, particularly over whether authorities were aware of her movements and whether she was subject to any restrictions on leaving Zambia.

Sources have further alleged that her departure was facilitated by individuals within airport and immigration structures, although these claims have not been independently substantiated.

One source alleged that the circumstances surrounding her reported departure raised concerns about possible weaknesses within the immigration system.

“The system is very compromised. Immigration officers and airport personnel planned her escape from Zambia silently. It is interesting that the system is still with her, hence no one knows the time she left the country,” the source alleged.

Questions have also been raised about Ms. Lungu’s reported return to Zambia around election day, with another source claiming that her arrival went largely unnoticed despite her having previously been outside the country.

“When she entered the country during voting day, everyone was surprised that she managed to come back without attracting attention. Now she has reportedly left again for South Africa. This is the person who lost her Chawama seat as MP because she never wanted to be in court facing different charges” the source alleged.

The claims have also drawn attention to ongoing investigations surrounding allegations of a militia network and claims involving a residence linked to former presidential candidate Brian Mundubile.

It remains unclear whether Ms. Lungu was under any travel restriction, whether authorities were aware of her reported departure, or whether any warrant or court order existed that could have prevented her from leaving the country.

Meanwhile, her husband, Patrick Mwansa, remains in detention as he faces terrorism and insurgency related allegations. His case has attracted significant public and political attention.
