77 ViewsToday, the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), together with candidates/ political party representatives , government institutions, civil society organisations, and the media, conducted a familiarisation tour of the ballot printing facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, ahead of the commencement of ballot printing for the 2026 General Election.
The tour provided stakeholders with an opportunity to appreciate the stringent security measures, advanced printing technology, quality assurance systems and accountability mechanisms that will guide the ballot printing process.
Speaking after the tour, ECZ Vice Chairperson Maj. General Vincent Mukanda (Rtd) reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to delivering a transparent, credible, inclusive and accountable electoral process.
He noted that stakeholder participation and independent oversight are critical in strengthening public confidence in the integrity of the election.
Ballot printing will officially commence tomorrow, Tuesday, 30th June 2026, beginning with the Presidential ballot papers, followed by National Assembly and Local Government ballot papers.
The Commission remains committed to ensuring that every stage of the ballot printing process is conducted securely, transparently and in accordance with established electoral standards.
