FORMER First Daughter Tasila Lungu has issued an urgent public appeal regarding the unknown whereabouts of her husband, Patrick Mwansa, after his mobile phones went offline following an allegedly Friday night military operation in Lusaka, capital city of Zambia.

The sudden disappearance comes just days after the couple were seen together in high spirits while casting their votes during the August 13 general elections.

The situation escalated rapidly following an alleged incident at the residence of opposition leader Brian Mundubile

According to statements emerging from opposition allies and family representatives, Mr Mwansa the in-law of Seventh Republican president of Zambia Edgah Lungu, was present at Mr Mundubile’s residence on Friday night when the Zambia Army Special Forces allegedly conducted a chaotic raid.

The operation, which reportedly involved heavily armed personnel breaching the property gate, left several occupants brutalised and later detained.

While Mr Mundubile was later released and spoke out about the traumatic ordeal via the EMV Podcast, several individuals—including Mr Mwansa—instantly went unaccounted for.

A visibly distraught Tasila in a posting on Facebook expressed severe concern, revealing that both of her husband’s mobile phones had been switched off since the alleged incident.

Family members and legal representarives spent the subsequent hours combing through local hospitals and security facilities to no avail, sparking widespread fears of an unlawful abduction

There had been no comments from Police and Government at Press time, but unconfirmed information indicates that Mr Mwansa had been located alive and being held in custody at the Lusaka Central Police Station.
