RUSSIA DESTROYS HUMANITARIAN AID MEANT FOR UKRAINIAN CHILDREN

Life-saving supplies intended for Ukrainian children and vulnerable families were destroyed when a Russian attack struck a UNICEF-contracted warehouse in Chubynske, Kyiv region

UNICEF says the loss will obstruct the delivery of essential assistance as Ukraine prepares for another winter of Russian attacks against its electricity, heating and water systems.

This is the second UNICEF-contracted warehouse in the Kyiv region struck in approximately five weeks. A July attack severely damaged another facility in Bilohorodka, destroying more than 106,000 humanitarian items valued at approximately $3.9 million.

These warehouses do not contain weapons. They hold the supplies children and displaced families need to endure war: clean water, hygiene materials, emergency equipment and assistance for communities where ordinary services have been destroyed.

Every box burned in Chubynske represents help that will now arrive late—or may not arrive at all. Russia did not merely destroy another warehouse. It removed life-saving assistance from families already preparing to survive another winter under attack.
