PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE INVALID WITHOUT KEY PLAYERS – DR MUSHIMBA

Organised People’s Party (OPP) President Dr. Brian Mushimba says attending the Presidential debate without President Hakainde Hichilema, “whose job we are all seeking”, does not make sense.

Dr. Mushimba also said the absence of other opposition leaders makes the debate invalid.

He however said he was more than ready to debate  and demonstrate to the nation why an OPP administration would be remarkably different and better than what was obtaining.

“We are not attending since the person we want to interrogate about the poor performance of the country won’t be there (HH). We wanted to stand side by side as we interrogate him and then advance a remarkably better alternative. If they confirm his attendance, we will be there too, but without him, who are we going to be debating with,” he asked.

Diamond TV is this evening and tomorrow scheduled to host the Presidential debate at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

As of press time, State House had not yet confirmed whether President Hichilema will be available or not.

Chief Communications Specialist at Statehouse, Clayson Hamasaka responded saying; “What are we debating with people who have already told us they will take us back to the days of Lungu? Just look at that record”.

Meanwhile, Outspoken Democratic Union President Ackim Antony Njobvu said he was ready to challenge his competitors via the Presidential debate.

Diamond media, the event organizers were yet to comment too on the way forward.
