‘No Amount of Paid Prophecies Will Change the People’s Verdict’ – Kampyongo

Incoming SHIWANG’ANDU Member of Parliament Hon. Stephen Kampyongo says no amount of “paid prophecies” will alter the decision Zambians are set to make in the August 13 General Election.

Speaking when he addressed Chingola residents at the Tonse Alliance Copperbelt finale rally, he said attempting to influence public opinion through individuals claiming to prophesy victory for a government who have not delivered campaign promises to the Zambian people.

“They are paying prophets to say they will win, but that will not change the will of the people,” he said.

Hon. Kampyongo said the people of Chingola had endured difficult times over the years, recalling the fear and uncertainty caused by the gassing incidents that affected the district.

He said he had personally visited Chingola to appreciate the extent of the situation and dismissed allegations that the Patriotic Front was behind the attacks..

The former Home Affairs Minister further stated that suspects who were involved in the gassing incidents were arrested but later released through nolle prosequi.

Hon. Kampyongo also defended the PF’s record in government, citing the construction of police housing across in Chingola and other parts of the country as one of the party’s achievements aimed at improving the welfare of security officers.

He urged voters to assess the performance of political parties based on their track record rather than campaign rhetoric.

Wrapping up his address, Kampyongo called on Copperbelt residents to turn out in large numbers on August 13 and vote for Tonse Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile.

“On 13th August, it’s Brian Mundubile for President,” he declared to cheering supporters.
