MUNDUBILE’S BODYGUARD VERY ALIVE, IN POLICE CUSTODY SAYS KATEKA.

Richard Banda, the bodyguard to opposition politician Brian Mundubile, is alive and remains in police custody, despite earlier reports circulating on social media and through some media outlets claiming that he had been killed.

Opposition politician Chishala Kateka has confirmed that she visited Chelstone Police Station today, where she said she saw both opposition leader George Chisanga and Banda.

“I went to the Chelstone Police Station today and saw Hon George Chisanga and Ba Richard Banda, who was thought to be dead,” Kateka stated.

The account directly contradicts earlier reports that Banda had died amid heightened political tensions following the 2026 presidential election.

The reports of his alleged death sparked concern and uncertainty, with many people questioning his whereabouts and seeking confirmation of what had happened to him.

However, according to Kateka’s account, Banda is alive and currently being held at Chelstone Police Station.

It remains unclear when Banda was taken into police custody, why he was detained, or whether any charges have been formally brought against him.

His reported appearance at the police station is likely to intensify calls for clarity regarding both his detention and the circumstances that gave rise to the earlier reports of his alleged death.
