Western Province Principal Public Relations Officer, Mwakoi Njekwa has hailed the wheat production at Malombe Irrigation Scheme in Sioma District as a clear demonstration of how irrigation, is transforming agriculture and enhancing food security in the region.

Mr Njekwa says the thriving wheat fields are a practical demonstration of the positive impact of the investment and the immense agricultural potential of Western Province.

Mr Njekwa said through investments such as the Malombe Irrigation Scheme, the government aims to increase agricultural productivity, strengthen food and nutritional security, create employment opportunities, empower local farming communities and promote sustainable economic growth.
