Record Super Division champions Nkana FC have returned home after a 12-day pre-season tour of Botswana as preparations for the 2026 Transitional League intensify.

‎Kalampa arrived in the country on Monday after playing six matches in Botswana, recording four wins and two defeats, and finishing as runners-up in the inaugural Tati River Cup.
‎
‎“The Botswana trip provided the environment the technical bench needed to assess the squad, build match fitness and test different combinations ahead of the 2026 Transitional League,” the club said.

‎Nkana opened the tour with dominant displays, beating Tutume Rangers FC 5-1 and 5-0. They then edged Tonota FC 1-0 in a closed-door practice match before suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Enesia FC.

‎The Kitwe giants progressed to the Tati River Cup final after a convincing 3-0 semi-final victory over Tafic FC.
‎
‎However, they fell 2-1 to Tonota FC in the final at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium to finish second in the inaugural tournament.
‎
‎With the Botswana tour concluded, attention now turns to the Mopani Challenge Cup against arch-rivals Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.
‎
‎The 2026 edition will be played over two legs for the third year running. The first leg is scheduled for 22 August at Shinde Stadium, with the return leg set for 29 August at Nkana Stadium.
‎
‎This year’s proceeds will support the Autism School at Kitwe Teaching Hospital and the procurement of physiotherapy equipment for Ronald Ross Hospital in Mufulira.
‎
‎The initiative offers football fans the chance to enjoy one of the Copperbelt’s biggest rivalries while contributing to causes that directly benefit communities in Kitwe and Mufulira.
