JUDGE THREATENS TO REVOKE MUNIR ZULU’S BAIL AFTER COURT NO-SHOW

Lusaka High Court Judge Ruth Mbambi has warned that she will revoke the bail granted to former Lumezi Member of Parliament and outspoken politician Munir Zulu after he failed to appear for a scheduled hearing of his appeal.

Zulu is appealing an 18-month prison sentence handed down by Lusaka Senior Resident Magistrate Trevor Kasanda after he was convicted of seditious practices.

Judge Mbambi cautioned that continued failure to comply with court proceedings could result in the cancellation of his bail and his return to custody pending the determination of the appeal.
