IRAN SAYS IT HAS MORE THAN 3,800 AIR DEFENSE POSITIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Iran claims its air defense network is deployed across more than 3,800 locations nationwide, including desert areas, coastlines, islands and mountainous regions.

Brigadier General Mohammad Sadeghian, deputy commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, said the main missions of these units include the detection, identification, tracking and interception of aerial threats.

According to Iranian media reports, Iran’s air defense systems monitor flying objects both over the country’s territory and beyond its borders. Fighter aircraft and surface-to-air missile systems can reportedly be deployed whenever an interception is deemed necessary

The claims come as military tensions remain high across the region, with Iran continuing to emphasize the scale and readiness of its nationwide air defense network.
