PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has urged residents of Siavonga District to vote for the United Party for National Development in the August elections, saying the vote is to protect gains made in governance and development.

Addressing residents, the President said those who previously “beat citizens for holding divergent views” should not be allowed to mislead the public.

“We ask you all to go and vote for us so that the gains made this far, can be protected from those who plundered public resources,” Hichilema said.

He said nine provinces visited so far are “RED and ready to continue moving forward” with government, and called on Siavonga to do the same.

The President said government has been working to lower the cost of living and that results will soon be evident. He described a vote for UPND as “a vote for peace, security, freedoms and development.”
