KALABA LOSES RUNNING MATE TO TONSE-PAMODZI ALLIANCE
Lusaka-Friday, 10th July 2026
Orange Alliance leader and Citizen First President Hon. Harry Kalaba has announced that he has learnt that his Running Mate,Exodus Party for Peace and Prosperity (EPPP), President Moses Mawere, who successfully filed presidential nominations with him, is expected to support the presidential candidature of Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance leader, Hon. Brian Mundubile.
Kalaba who has previously held talks with Mundubile but those talks remain inconclusive, has so far lost Roan constituency aspirant MP, Chishimba Kambwili and Kafue West Aspirant and national youth leader,Max Chongu to Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance.
“While we would have preferred to continue this journey together under the Citizens First banner, we respect their decision and wish them well in their future political endeavours” Kalaba said.
“To the people of Zambia, I wish to assure you that Citizens First remains steadfast in offering principled leadership and practical solutions to the challenges facing our nation.”
“As Citizens First, our mission remains unchanged. We remain firmly committed to building a united, prosperous, and corruption free Zambia founded on integrity, accountability, transparency, non-violence, and servant leadership.”
The case of Harry Kalaba is similar to Andyford Banda who officially withdrew as the presidential running mate for Dr. Brian Mushimba under the Organized People’s Party (OPP).
Since the ticket of a Presidential candidate is tied to their running mate, the constitutionality of the withdrawal or endorsement of another presidential candidate has not been determined yet by the courts of law.
