Addressing residents, the President recalled that Shiwang’andu was once known for political violence where “any Zambian who was seen wearing red coloured clothes was not spared. But not anymore.” President Hichilema said in the past four years and some months, government has been working to clear the debt left by the previous administration and to reduce the cost of living. “We have also been working on reducing the cost of living and we are optimistic that once you give us this mandate, together we will begin to see the economic gains,” he said. He urged residents to vote for UPND in August to ensure programmes like free education continue. “Mwebena Shiwang’andu. Go and vote for us this August so that free education among others can continue.
