A 38-YEAR-OLD man of Nyimba District in Eastern Province has vanished from Chakoma Village of Eastern Province following revelations that the child his biological daughter gave birth to, is a product of incest dating as far back as 2024.

This startling revelation came to light after the 16-year-old’s grandmother overheard her and boyfriend argue, the argument that unearthed startling details surrounding her child’s parentage.

During the said argument, the boyfriend was heard telling off the girl that she fell pregnant for her father and lied that the pregnancy was his, when in fact not.

When the grandmother heard this, she summoned the girl, and quizzed her over what she had heard.

On being interrogated, the 16-year-old divulged that, actually, her boyfriend was right. Her biological father, was her father’s child.

She told her grandmother that, when she became of age, her father started taking advantage of her.

According to information availed to TV Yatu by Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba, the suspect, Sangu Mwanza, aged 38, started having unlawful carnal knowledge of his beloved daughter when she just turned 14.

Mweemba says this was in 2024. He shares that, following his incestuous act towards his own blood, a pregnancy came into existence. When he learned of this, he advised his daughter to finger her boyfriend as one responsible for the pregnancy.

It is believed that although her boyfriend did not outrightly reject the pregnancy, he had a clue who truly was responsible for his girlfriend’s pregnancy.

When uncle to the girl learned of this, he reported the matter to the Police. And in learning that his cover had been blown off, the incestuous father vanished from the village.

Now Police in Nyimba are searching for the suspect behind the defilement of his own biological daughter.

Mweemba says the revelations were made on July 24, 2026 and that, the victim’s child is now 1-year-9-months.
