OPPOSITION leaders Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu were handed to police for questioning over alleged threats to national security, authorities said.

Police spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi told ZNBC News the two were being interviewed by a team of officers with their lawyers present.

Chilabi said police would release a statement after the interviews.

Police had summoned Mundubile and Zulu as part of an investigation into activities authorities say could threaten national security.

The two had been under United Nations protection in Lusaka prior to being handed over.
