ATTORNEY GENERAL CALLS FOR ENHANCED PREPAREDNESS AHEAD OF ANTICIPATED ELECTION PETITIONS

Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha has called for enhanced preparedness ahead of the August elections, saying the Attorney General’s Chambers is likely to be inundated with election petitions following an increase in the number of constituencies.

Mr. Kabesha has since stressed the urgent need to equip state advocates with the requisite knowledge and skills in the effective management of election petitions at all levels.

He said adequate preparation is therefore critical in ensuring the successful handling of election-related disputes, adding that “failure to plan is planning to fail.”
