Andyford Banda endorses Mundubile, Makebi, says Zambian’s economy has frozen, needs the duo to restart

PEOPLE’S Alliance for Change—PAC president Andyford Banda has endorsed Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu ahead of the August 13 general election, declaring that the two opposition leaders are coming to “restart” Zambia’s economy.

Banda, who recently withdrew from being Brian Mushimba’s presidential running mate, travelled to Mansa where he publicly endorsed the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity—NRPUP presidential candidate, Brian Mundubile, and his running mate, Makebi Zulu.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Banda expressed confidence that Mundubile and Makebi would emerge victorious in the August 13 polls and be inaugurated as Zambia’s next President and Vice President.

“I am delighted to be in Mansa to escort a government that is coming after August 13. Whether they like it or not, they are going. Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu will be inaugurated as Zambia’s President and Vice President after August 13. I have endorsed them, and now it is time for us to work hard,” Banda said.

He argued that Zambia’s economy had stalled under the current administration, saying the opposition duo would revive it if elected.

“Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu are coming to restart the country. Our economy has frozen, and the two are coming to restart it. We shall start afresh,” he said.

Banda also appealed to young people to support the opposition ticket, saying the pair would prioritise job creation and deliver justice.

“Young people, remember that Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu are coming to ensure that you have employment. They are bringing justice, unlike the way it has been where only people from Luapula have been jailed,” Banda said.
