Right to Care Zambia (RTCZ) has provided public health service delivery and technical assistance in partnership with the Ministry of Health since 2016. Its work includes HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, epidemic response, malaria and TB, public health research, social behaviour change, laboratory services, pharmaceutical supply chains and non-communicable diseases. Position: Technical Lead – Warehousing & Distribution Number of vacancies: 1 Contract type: Fixed Term. Contract duration: TBA. Location: Lusaka, Zambia Reporting to: Director – Supply Chain Date advertised: 10 September 2026. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Degree in Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Health or a related field. • At least ten years’ warehousing and distribution-management experience. • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience. • Deep understanding of ZAMMSA operations and regional hubs. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Master’s in Supply Chain Management or Logistics. • Warehousing/distribution-management certification. • Experience with PEPFAR-funded programmes, third-party logistics (3PL) contracting/management, and cold chains/temperature-sensitive commodities. COMPETENCIES Technical leadership; inventory and systems management; performance monitoring and capacity building; ethics, integrity and professionalism. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Warehousing and WMS • Lead the WMS improvement plan for warehouse efficiency, stock visibility and system performance. • Institutionalise accurate, accountable inventory controls for stock availability. • Manage warehousing/distribution risks and audits, close gaps and comply with standards. • Audit inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies and drive corrective action. • Support WMS adoption through guidance, user assistance and capacity building. In-country distribution • Maintain Distribution Tracking Tools (DTT) and ePOD systems for end-to-end visibility and accurate data. • Monitor On-Time In-Full performance to improve efficiency/service levels. • Resolve exceptions and lead route optimisation for delivery performance/cost-effectiveness. • Support 3PL management and contractual/service-level compliance. • Monitor cold chains and temperature compliance during storage/distribution. Inventory control • Standardise warehouse/inventory processes for efficiency and accountability. • Conduct stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records. • Implement First-Expiry, First-Out to reduce expiries and improve use. • Monitor stock accuracy/wastage and take action to reduce losses. Capacity building • Mentor ZAMMSA staff in warehousing, inventory management and distribution. • Develop competencies through coaching, on-the-job training and knowledge sharing. • Use “I Do, We Do, You Do” for practical learning and sustainable skills transfer. • Transfer warehousing/distribution systems, processes and competencies to GRZ structures.
