Job description: PURPOSE Reporting to the Coordinator, the Specialist, Maintenance, works with the Coordinator and foremen to coordinate the execution of Maintenance works on the Mining fleet. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Area Superintendent and Maintenance coordinator to effectively plan for all maintenance works in the workshop and pit area, ensuring all parts and materials needed are available. Assist the Coordinator in Supervising and providing leadership to the crew Foremen Champion quality and provide visible leadership ‘on-the-floor’ in FQM operations Recognize and celebrate achievements and success in the team; provide candid feedback, engage at all levels and lead with a People First mindset. Searches and sorts through the CMMS backlog to ensure all identified backlog work is included in the scheduled planned work. Identifies any potential consumable materials issues and works with supply chain to ensure everything required is on site prior to maintenance work. Assist the Coordinator in Coordinating the team to ensure all safety compliance targets are met. Ensure a safe work environment is maintained applying all company policies and safe work practices, demonstrating a strong commitment to the safety of employees Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis on all premature failures. Liaise with other teams in troubleshooting root cause and incident investigations including equipment failures and defects for low impact planned and unplanned events. Coordinate, interpret, report and communicate failure analyses through various data sources; Participate in the improvement of engineering standards, specifications and instructions associated with replacement, refurbishment and augmentation of equipment Assist the section in developing SOP’s and QA/QC Documents. Assist the Coordinator and the superintendent to oversee cost and effectiveness strategies including budgeting, component tracking and the encouragement and development of initiative in subordinate levels. Work hand in hand with the Coordinator and Foreman to Set up workshop tooling best practices. Perform any other duties as required by Management. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate Diploma in any Mechanical field or equivalent. A Degree in Mechanical engineering will be an added advantage Craft Certificate in HER Holder of current Valid EIZ membership Ability to hold a MR207 or 210(1b) Appointment Valid Driving License class B manual or better Excellent verbal and written skills in English. Ability to achieve result is a cross cultural environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels. All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). EXPERIENCE A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in a related role Must have vast experience working in an environment with a huge fleet of Heavy Equipment Demonstrable Experience leading Teams of Artisans and Technicians in maintenance works. Ability to understand and interpret oil laboratory analysis results. Experience in Condition based Maintenance. Knowledge of CMMS systems in particular Pronto BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS Proven conflict resolution skills; and Previous experience working in a fast paced, cross cultural environment Past experience as an effective, visible and approachable leader, with the ability to work with a diverse group of people OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Exposure to dust, heat and noise Advance PC skills and database experience An understanding of relevant legislation, policies, equipment and procedures.
