We aim to be a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace, a beautiful estate, and a diversified agribusiness which is the best at serving customers. ​Position Overview ​As a School Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students and guiding a team of dedicated educators. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the continued success of Nakambala Private School. ​Key Responsibilities ​Policy & Compliance ​Ensure compliance with Zambia Ministry of Education policies. ​Liaise with the Ministry of Education on syllabus changes, exam dates, and policy updates. ​Ensure the school meets all requirements for exam registrations and annual renewals. ​Academic Leadership ​Oversee implementation of the Zambian curriculum and ECZ exam requirements for all examination classes. ​Ensure quality teaching, learning, and assessment across all subjects, recommending interventions where necessary. ​Lead academic quality assurance: lesson observations, work scrutiny, and exam analysis. ​Monitor lesson planning, ensuring teachers prepare lesson plans, weekly forecasts, and schemes of work. ​Use data tracking and interventions to raise academic standards. ​Select appropriate curricula for Primary and Secondary sections. ​Examinations & Reporting ​Prepare the school for national examinations, including secure storage of exam papers. ​Oversee timetables, examinations, and academic reporting. ​Prepare monthly reports for the school section. ​Staffing & Professional Development ​Recruit, interview, and select qualified teaching staff with HR support. ​Supervise, mentor, appraise, and support teaching and non-teaching staff. ​Line manage Heads of Sections and support professional development. ​Manage staff discipline, performance, and recommend confirmations/promotions. ​Promote in-service training in supervision and pedagogy. ​Administration & Records ​Maintain accurate school records, including teacher registers and statistical data. ​Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor expenditure, and enforce cost control. ​Procure teaching aids, materials, and other resources. ​Prepare and publish the school calendar in line with Ministry guidelines. ​Student Welfare & Discipline ​Create a conducive teaching and learning environment. ​Maintain pupil discipline, welfare, and positive behavior management. ​Support extracurricular activities, sports, and cultural programs. ​Strategic Development & Community Engagement ​Take charge of the development and implementation of strategic plans for school improvement. ​Act as a liaison between the school, parents, and the Ministry of Education, ensuring open and effective communication. ​Represent the school at official functions, meetings, and community events. ​Oversee day-to-day operations of the Secondary School, including student discipline, extracurricular activities, and event planning. ​ Minimum Requirements ​Full Grade 12 Certificate. ​Bachelor’s degree in education (Master’s preferred). ​Preferably 7–10 years teaching/administrative experience. ​Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. ​Knowledge of national education policies and examination systems. ​Financial management and budgeting expertise. ​Ability to inspire staff, students, and the community. ​Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). ​ How to Apply ​If you are interested in applying for this role, please submit your detailed CV, copies of relevant qualifications, registrations, and ID/Passport as a single PDF document. ​Email to: careers@zamsugar.zm ​Subject Line: “Application – School Manager” ​ Closing Date: 24th June 2026 ​Note: Applicants may be required to complete pre-employment checks (qualification, credit, security, background, and medical assessments).
