About the Role: IT Project Manager Jobs in Lusaka Reporting directly to the COO of UBA Zambia, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of IT and business transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting scope, budget, and timeline requirements while maintaining high quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of IT and business transformation projects. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, risk registers, and governance documentation. Coordinate activities across internal teams, vendors, and third-party partners to ensure seamless project delivery. Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests proactively. Support initiatives related to digital banking, payments, infrastructure upgrades, automation, and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to PMO governance standards and timely reporting to leadership and governance committees. Oversee project intake, testing, operational readiness, and go-live activities. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and facilitate project review meetings. Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with operational and security standards. Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports and performance updates. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree is advantageous. At least 5 to 8 years of proven experience in IT Project Management. Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Fintech, or IT sectors. Demonstrated success delivering complex enterprise technology projects. Proven ability to manage vendors and third-party integrations. Experience working within matrix and multi-country environments is a plus. Preferred Professional Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) PRINCE2 PMI-ACP / Agile Certification Scrum Master Certification ITIL Foundation Key Skills and Competencies Strong expertise in end-to-end IT project management. Experience managing digital banking projects, payment systems, APIs, and channel implementations. Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies. Knowledge of banking operations and enterprise delivery governance. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Effective risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with core banking systems, middleware integrations, digital channels, and information security controls.
