Internship Opportunities (Sales and Engineering) Reports to: Regional Sales Lead (Sales Track) / Technical Engineer (Engineer Track) About Us: Biogas Technology Zambia is a Zambian woman-led clean energy company specializing in biodigester systems that convert organic waste into clean biogas energy and organic fertilizer. We are scaling a 3.5-year national project to construct and install 2,000 biodigester plants across all 10 Provinces of Zambia. As we grow, we are strengthening our sales and engineering systems to support field delivery at scale. Programme Overview (Development-Focused) We are recruiting high-potential early-career professionals into Internship Programmes with two tracks: i. Internship – Sales: Lusaka and Kabwe ii. Internship – Engineering: Lusaka This programme is designed for candidates who want to grow from entry-level into competent specialists and future managers, working under experienced professionals and progressively taking on higher responsibility based on performance. Track A: Internship position– Sales i. Role Summary The Sales Intern will support the Sales and Business Development team by assisting with proposal preparation, client communication, stakeholder engagement, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in business development, customer relationship management, and sales operations within the renewable energy sector while contributing to the company’s growth objectives. ii. Key Responsibilities (Progressive Learning + Delivery) Under supervision, you will learn to: Conduct market research and identify potential business opportunities. Assist in preparing business proposals, quotations, and other sales documents. Follow up on proposals, letters, and client correspondence. Receive, draft, and respond to emails professionally. Make and receive calls with farmers, clients, partners, and other stakeholders. Maintain customer records and support client relationship management. Provide administrative support to the Sales Department. iii. Sales Track – Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Bioenergy, Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, Public Relations, Sales, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and eager to learn. 0–1 years experience (internship/attachment accepted). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Registration with the respective professional body will be an added advantage. Track B: Internship Position – Engineering i. Role Summary The Engineering Intern will support the implementation of the company’s Solid Waste Management Project by assisting with technical field activities, project monitoring, data collection, and engineering-related tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience in renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and construction while working alongside experienced technical professionals. ii. Key Responsibilities (Progressive Learning + Delivery) Under supervision, you will learn to: Support the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Project. Assist with site visits, inspections, and technical assessments. Collect, analyse, and report technical data. Support construction and renewable energy project activities. Assist with project documentation and reporting. Work closely with engineers and technical staff. iii. Engineer Track – Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Engineering or related fields. Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, solid waste management, water sanitation and hygiene as well as construction. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work both in the office and at project sites. 0–1 years experience (internship/attachment accepted). Drivers licence is an added advantage. Must have a valid membership card with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply (the candidate should not be more than three years post-graduation).
