Driver Trainer Opportunity in Ndola Usangu Logistics is actively recruiting for a dedicated Driver Trainer to join our team in Ndola, Copperbelt, Zambia. Key Responsibilities for Driver Trainer Jobs in Ndola Conduct induction and refresher training sessions for new and existing drivers. Deliver instruction in defensive driving, hazard recognition, and accident prevention. Perform practical driving assessments and evaluate driver competencies. Coach and mentor drivers to improve performance and adherence to standards. Ensure thorough understanding of company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations. Lead toolbox talks and safety awareness programs emphasizing fatigue management and emergency response. Monitor compliance with speed limits, driving hours, and vehicle handling standards. Conduct pre-employment driver assessments and road tests. Analyze driver performance using telematics, incident reports, and other data sources. Identify training gaps and implement corrective programs following incidents or violations. Promote fuel-efficient driving techniques and preventive vehicle maintenance practices. Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, and prepare monthly compliance reports. Update and enhance training materials and manuals as needed. Qualifications and Experience Required Grade 12 Certificate. Diploma or Certificate in Transport & Logistics, Road Transport Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional heavy-duty driver. At least 2 years’ experience in driver training, coaching, or fleet operations. Experience with long-haul, tanker, or hazardous goods transport is advantageous. Licenses and Certifications Valid Professional Driver’s License appropriate for vehicle class. Defensive Driving Certificate. Dangerous Goods Certification (where applicable). Training of Trainers (TOT) Certificate is a plus. Valid medical fitness certificate. Key Competencies and Skills Exceptional driving and vehicle handling abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of road transport laws and compliance standards. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities. Analytical skills for incident investigation and problem resolution. Proficient report writing and meticulous record-keeping. Computer literacy including MS Office and fleet management software. Working Conditions Frequent travel to operational sites and client locations throughout the Copperbelt region. Field-based driver assessments and hands-on coaching responsibilities. Occasional work beyond standard hours to meet operational demands. Exposure to transport depots, workshops, and loading areas.
