Abba’s Heart Zambia is in search of a mature Christian with education and real-world experience in individual counseling. The candidate will be counseling children and young people who have spent time on the streets of Kitwe and have experienced trauma at home and in town. Potential trauma can involve physical abuse, sexual abuse and drug abuse. We will train in AHZ counseling models and systems, but applicant must have had previous counseling training. (Something beyond a psychosocial certificate preferred.) The individual will also be responsible for conducting mental health assessments, teaching counseling-related courses to residents and could even be involved in counseling the child’s family upon reunificatoin. The AHZ counseling modality will prioritize Biblical principles and the gospel message. Strong believers in Christ need only apply. Driving License is beneficial.
