President Hakainde Hichilema says the Chisekesi- Chipepo Road in Gwembe District will be rehabilitated for the people to effectively access social amenities such as hospitals, schools and markets among others.

And President Hichilema has stated that Bottom Road which connects Gwembe to Sinazongwe will also be rehabilitated.

The Head of State notes that improving roads in Gwembe is a priority, hence the need for residents to vote for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in the August 13, General Elections for continued development.

Mr Hichilema said this today in Gwembe District at a community engagement at Munyumbwe Grounds.

President Hichilema further pointed out that government has implemented a number of programmes such as the Free Education Policy which has now become law, adding that for this to continue, people should vote for the UPND during the General Elections.

“For free education to continue, you have to vote for the UPND so that it comes back into power for more development,” he said.

President Hichilema also noted that health workers, teachers among others have been employed in different sectors.

“There is no government that has employed more than 45 thousand teachers and 20 thousand nurses. This is the reason you should vote for UPND so that more job opportunities can be created,” he urged.

President Hichilema further directed the employment of all volunteering nurses in Gwembe who attended the public gathering.

“I appreciate all of you volunteering nurses, the work you put in cannot be overemphasised. I have therefore employed all of you,” he said.

And the President pledged to continue modernising Gwembe District Hospital and the completion of the mortuary at the health facility.

In the education sector, President Hichilema said the government will rehabilitate Chipeop Boarding School as well as increase investment in fisheries and mining sectors.

President Hichilema also noted that government will ensure that Munyumbwe Skills Training Centre is upgraded for youths to continue acquiring different trades and improve their livelihood.

In the agriculture sector, the Head of State assured Gwembe residents that more Food Reserve Agency (FRA) Depots will be constructed for them to access community maize sales as well as selling their farm produce.

Meanwhile, UPND Provincial Chairperson, Billiard Makwembo, said voting for the UPND party will spur more development in Gwembe.

And UPND Gwembe Aspiring Candidate, Tyson Simuzingili, urged the people to vote for the party in order to revamp Gwembe Ginnary, improve roads and more CDF allocation and Grants among others

“Vote for UPND so that you see all these developments that include roads and more CDF grants and loans, “he noted.

Mr Simuzingili also noted that if UPND will be given a second term, water reticulation systems will be worked on, including construction of schools and hospitals.
