Mr Goma says attendance at DDCC meetings is critical as the forum enables departments to review progress on government programmes and development projects being implemented in the district.
Speaking during the second quarter District Development Coordinating Committee meeting in Chama, Mr Goma, who is also the DDCC Chairperson, said the meetings play a vital role in fostering coordination among government departments and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of development interventions.
He noted that the absence of some Heads of Department compromises the quality of discussions and decision-making, as key updates from their respective institutions are not presented.
Mr Goma urged all Heads of Department to prioritise attendance at DDCC meetings, stressing that their participation is essential in promoting accountability, information sharing and coordinated planning.
He further called on government departments to remain committed to delivering quality services to the people through improved collaboration and timely reporting on development activities.
Mr Goma reiterated that the government expects all public institutions to actively participate in district development structures in order to enhance service delivery and achieve the country’s development objectives.
He also encouraged stakeholders to continue working together to address development challenges affecting Chama district.
