In a statement, Mr. Mundubela said Zambians should begin to look beyond political rhetoric and assess political parties based on their actions, emphasizing that violence has no place in a democratic society.
The statement follows an alleged incident in Kitwe on the Copperbelt, where Mr. Mundubela and other opposition members were reportedly attacked while conducting campaign activities. He alleged that their members were assaulted, while campaign vehicles were vandalized and stones were thrown during the incident.
Mr. Mundubela called on all political parties to be allowed to campaign freely and peacefully, urging stakeholders to promote tolerance and respect for democratic freedoms ahead of the elections.
He further appealed for political players to uphold peace and ensure that citizens can participate in the electoral process without fear or intimidation.
