TONSE-PAMODZI ALLIANCE STATEMENT RESPONDING TO UPND’S MONGU CENTRAL ASPIRANT MAKAI MAKAI’S DEROGATORY REMARKS AND THREATS ON PRESIDENT MUNDUBILE

Mongu-Monday 13th July 2026

We have learnt with shock tribal, divisive, and dangerous remarks issued by UPND Mongu parliamentary aspirant, Makai Makai.

We wish to condemn in the strongest terms these tribal and derogatory remarks that also seek to incite violence against Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance Presidential candidate Hon. Brian mundubile and his Running Mate, Hon.Makebi Zulu.

We have since established that the criminal remarks were issued during one of Makai’s campaign meetings in the 13th August 2026.

We challenge the Zambia Police and the Electoral commission of Zambia to take immediate action as these remarks have the capacity to spawn violence and sow seeds of tribalism in a peaceful community.

We also challenge the UPND leadership to distance itself from such unwarranted remarks and take immediate disciplinary action.

Mr MAKAI MAKAI, must also desist from bringing into disrepute the traditional leadership of the barote royal establishment.

We wish to remind Mr Makai Makai, that his derogatory remarks against Mwana mulena Akashambatwa mbikusita Lewanika and former Ngambela Wainyae Sinyinda, Clearly exposes his lack of leadership qualities and must be condemned.

Makai Makai’s remarks are very unfortunate for a person aspiring to represent a people.
It is therefore imperative that the people of Mongu reject such leadership being offered by Makai Makai who ride on emotive issue of tribe and  development.

We remind Makai Makai that Presidents Brian mundubile and Makebi Zulu are Zambians and will campaign anywhere and everywhere.
