🇿🇲 POLLING BRIEF | Police Recover Ammunition, Seek Sean Tembo

Police in Lusaka have arrested six people after recovering 22 rounds of ammunition and other items from a motor vehicle during ongoing election-day security operations.

Police spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said officers also found campaign materials linked to Roma independent parliamentary candidate Sean Tembo in the vehicle and have asked Tembo to avail himself to assist with investigations.

Police have not, on the information available, said Tembo was among those arrested or established his connection to the recovered ammunition.

Separately, UPND Roma parliamentary candidate Ross Kasikili has filed a report containing further allegations against Tembo, including claims involving pangas and a firearm. Those allegations remain claims requiring police investigation and should not be treated as established fact.

The development comes as police conduct stop-and-search operations across the country during voting. With polls approaching closure, security around polling stations and the subsequent counting process remains a central focus.
